This beautiful Fern with Koru Pounamu pendant has been carved from New Zealand pounamu (greenstone/ jade) by Moreton carvers based in Hokitika, South Island.

The koru is the artistic depiction of the unfurling New Zealand fern frond and is a symbol of new beginnings, growth, new life, harmony, peace and tranquillity.

Pounamu is the Māori name for greenstone or nephrite jade which is only found in the South Island. It is an extremely tough material and is said to absorb the owners essential spirit, feeding it back to them and enhancing their strength.
